So many Americans are disappointed to find themselves having to effectively withdraw their applications to enter the neighboring country of Canada up north of the border, this as a more polite way of saying that they were denied entry. The good news about things playing out that particular way is that there is effectively no bad record of having been denied entry and it’s usually then just a matter of getting one’s affairs properly in order for the next time they try to enter the country.
Believe it or not, but Canada is indeed a different country altogether, which means they have different laws and they handle immigration procedures differently. They definitely welcome tourists however, but it doesn’t mean that by mere virtue of being a U.S. citizen that it’ll be a total breeze to cross over. You have to be able to prove that you’re a bona fide traveler and that your trip into the country will add value to it instead of potentially taking any value away from it.
That said, there’s a lot of fun to be had in Canada and it’s worth making the trip at least once in one’s lifetime. You’ll probably have so much fun that it will likely become a regular thing though.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is worth mentioning on its own as a mega attraction to enjoy if you’re visiting Canada, but it’s merely a placeholder for so much more to explore and admire the natural beauty of. A helicopter ride across the great falls will probably be on the steeper end of any traveler’s budget, but if you’re perhaps traveling as part of a group then it can become more affordable. Otherwise there are many other different ways of enjoying the sights and sounds of the Niagara Falls and it’s an experience which should definitely be added to every traveler’s bucket list.
Wine estates
They’re not a bad travel theme to explore in the colder winter months either, but it’s in the summertime when Canada’s many beautiful wine estates offer some of the best travel experiences you can have, anywhere. Some of them are only open to visitors in the warmer months, welcoming guests to some wine tasting, al fresco dining (with the finest wine, of course), estate tours and the opportunity to just bask in the surrounding natural beauty.
Night life
The night life in cities such as Toronto and Vancouver is magnetic enough to draw travelers from far and wide and it’s a scene that’s worth checking out if you’re into all the fun that’s reserved for the big kids! From night clubs to sports bars – you will definitely come away with the belief that Canadians actually DO know how to party!
The great outdoors
If you’re visiting in the winter then you might want to head all the way north and see the Aurora lights, otherwise in the warmer months there is some great outdoor family fun to be had in true Canadian style, at one or more of the many water parks that are in no way modest in size.
